About Me

Most of the people clicking on this section will already know who I am, so I’ll keep it brief.

-sucks in breath-

Hi guys! My name’s Ffion and I am a twenty year old student at the Uni of Southampton, studying a BA in German and Spanish.  Right now, I am living in Buxtehude near Hamburg, Germany, doing my year abroad as part of my course.  I am working at a medical company called implantcast, where I am a translator and part of product management.

I have a strange personality, but people seem to like it.  I am obsessed with Japan and the Japanese culture (everything from Samurai to Buddhism to Anime), and I also take pride in the fact that my speciality in my career and life in general is languages.  I use too many long words under the parenthesis that it will make me look clever, but I have a very low level of common sense (even if academically I am quite bright) and I have quite an ADD OCD personality… if those two can even be combined.  I get distracted by shiny things and like ducks a little too much, but have an OCD for not stepping on cracks in the pavement… not because I am superstitious… it just infuriates me to do it… imagine me on crazy paving.

Main pasttimes include watching anime, reading manga, writing poetry and fanfiction, doing digital art and photo manipulations, and listening to all the music I have downloaded (totally legally of course :P ).

The biggest event for me this year is my trip to Japan with one of my best friends from school, Annie, to visit another friend Douglas in Tokyo.  It happens to coincide with my 21st birthday, so I am treating it as a birthday holiday as well as an educational excursion/oppurtunity to drink too much sake and hook up with hot J-rockers.

Hope you enjoy my journal :D
